To kick off Fnatic Valorant’s 2023 visual identity we wanted to create a look and feel inspired by collectible card games like Pokémon. This first wave in particular was inspired by vintage Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! To make the designs feel authentic and speak to the player’s personalities, I wrote mechanics and flavour text as if the cards featured in a real game. We produced printed copies of these cards to hand out to fans at events.
